Welcome to Express Mobile Laundry.
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply when you request a quote, book, purchase or use laundry, pickup, delivery or related services provided by Express Mobile Laundry (“Express Mobile Laundry”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
By requesting or accepting our services, you agree to these Terms.
Please read them carefully before confirming a service.
1. Our Services
Express Mobile Laundry provides mobile laundry services which may include:
- Laundry pickup and delivery
- Washing
- Drying
- Folding
- Ironing
- Linen services
- Regular or recurring laundry services
- Residential laundry services
- Commercial laundry services
- Other laundry-related services agreed with the customer
The exact services included in your booking will be those specified in your accepted quote, booking confirmation or other written agreement with us.
Not every service will be available in every location.
2. Requesting a Quote
Customers may request a quote through our website, by telephone, email or another communication method offered by Express Mobile Laundry.
Submitting a quote request does not automatically create a confirmed booking.
We may need additional information before providing or confirming a quote, including:
- Your location
- Type of laundry
- Approximate laundry volume or quantity
- Required services
- Pickup and delivery requirements
- Frequency of service
- Special handling requirements
A booking is considered confirmed when Express Mobile Laundry accepts the booking and confirms the service arrangements with you.
3. Quotes and Pricing
Prices may vary depending on factors including:
- Laundry quantity or weight
- Type of items
- Services requested
- Special handling requirements
- Pickup or delivery requirements
- Location
- Frequency of service
- Urgency or turnaround requirements
- Commercial or specialised laundry requirements
Where a quote is based on estimated quantities or information supplied before collection, the final amount may change if the actual laundry differs materially from the information provided.
If additional charges become necessary because of a material difference in the laundry or service requested, we will endeavour to advise you before performing significant additional work.
Unless otherwise stated, prices quoted are in Australian dollars and include GST where applicable.
4. Customer Information
You are responsible for ensuring that information provided to Express Mobile Laundry is accurate and complete.
This includes your:
- Name
- Contact details
- Pickup address
- Delivery address
- Access instructions
- Laundry requirements
- Special-care instructions
- Billing information
We are not responsible for delays or additional costs caused by incorrect, incomplete or outdated information supplied by the customer, except to the extent required by law.
5. Pickup and Collection
You must ensure that laundry is ready and reasonably accessible at the agreed collection time or within the agreed collection window.
Laundry should be securely placed in an appropriate bag, container or location as instructed by Express Mobile Laundry.
If we cannot collect the laundry because:
- Nobody is available where an attended pickup has been arranged
- We cannot access the property
- Incorrect access instructions have been supplied
- The laundry is not available
- Collection would present an unreasonable health or safety risk
we may need to reschedule the collection.
Additional charges may apply where a failed pickup requires another visit. Any applicable charge will be communicated to you.
6. Delivery
We will make reasonable efforts to return completed laundry within the timeframe communicated to you.
Pickup and delivery times are estimates unless we have expressly agreed otherwise.
Circumstances outside our reasonable control may occasionally affect delivery times, including:
- Traffic
- Vehicle breakdowns
- Severe weather
- Equipment failure
- Power or utility interruptions
- Unusually high service demand
- Access problems
- Public emergencies
- Other circumstances beyond our reasonable control
Where practical, we will notify you of significant delays.
7. Authority to Leave Laundry
If you instruct or authorise us to leave laundry unattended at your property, you accept the risks ordinarily associated with leaving goods unattended once they have been delivered to the authorised location.
Please provide a safe, sheltered and accessible place for unattended delivery.
We recommend avoiding locations where laundry may be exposed to rain, animals, theft or other foreseeable risks.
Nothing in this clause limits any rights you may have under applicable Australian law.
8. Standard Laundry Processing
Unless alternative arrangements have been agreed, laundry will generally be processed using our normal laundering procedures appropriate to the requested service.
Depending on the service, this may include:
- Sorting suitable items
- Machine washing
- Machine drying
- Folding
- Packaging for return
We may use commercial laundry detergents and cleaning products appropriate for ordinary laundry processing.
If you require a particular detergent, temperature, washing method, drying method or other special process, you must tell us before we collect or begin processing your laundry.
9. Care Labels and Special-Care Items
Customers are responsible for identifying items requiring special treatment.
Examples may include:
- Hand-wash-only garments
- Delicate fabrics
- Wool
- Silk
- Lace
- Embellished garments
- Designer garments
- Vintage clothing
- Items requiring line drying
- Items marked “do not tumble dry”
- Items requiring low-temperature washing
- Garments prone to colour bleeding
- Items requiring specialist cleaning
- Items with sentimental or unusually high value
Special-care requirements should be provided clearly before collection.
Where an item has no care label, has an unreadable care label, contains conflicting care instructions or appears unsuitable for our available processes, we may decline to process the item.
10. Dry-Clean-Only Items
Unless expressly stated otherwise as part of the service you have booked, Express Mobile Laundry does not provide specialist dry-cleaning services.
Items marked “Dry Clean Only” should not be included with ordinary laundry unless we have specifically agreed to handle them.
We may remove such items from a load and return them unprocessed.
11. Checking Pockets and Personal Belongings
Customers must check and empty all pockets before laundry is collected.
Please remove items such as:
- Cash
- Coins
- Jewellery
- Keys
- Pens
- Lipstick or cosmetics
- Tissues and paper
- Electronic devices
- Earphones
- Medication
- Documents
- Cards
- Sharp objects
- Other personal belongings
Objects left inside clothing may damage both the item containing them and other laundry being processed.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for damage caused by objects left inside garments where the damage could not reasonably have been prevented by us exercising due care and skill.
If we discover personal property while processing laundry, we will take reasonable steps to return it to you.
12. Colour Bleeding and Colour Transfer
Some fabrics may release dye during washing even when processed in accordance with their care instructions.
Customers should notify us about garments known or suspected to:
- Run colour
- Bleed dye
- Require washing separately
- Require special temperature settings
We will take reasonable care when sorting and processing laundry. However, colour behaviour can sometimes be unpredictable.
Nothing in these Terms excludes our obligations to exercise due care and skill when providing our services.
13. Shrinkage and Fabric Changes
Some garments and textiles may naturally:
- Shrink
- Stretch
- Fade
- Pill
- Lose colour
- Change texture
- Develop wear
- Lose shape
during normal laundering, particularly where items are already worn, have unstable fabrics or dyes, or contain inaccurate or missing care information.
Express Mobile Laundry will take reasonable care when processing items but cannot guarantee that normal laundering will prevent all inherent fabric changes.
14. Stain Removal
We aim to provide clean laundry appropriate to the service requested, but we cannot guarantee the removal of every stain.
Results can vary depending on:
- Type of stain
- Age of stain
- Fabric
- Previous treatment
- Heat exposure
- Dye stability
- Care instructions
Some stains may become permanent.
Specialist stain-treatment services should be requested before processing where available.
We will not use unusually aggressive stain-removal techniques where we reasonably believe doing so may damage the garment.
15. Pre-Existing Damage
Laundry may occasionally contain pre-existing problems such as:
- Tears
- Loose stitching
- Missing buttons
- Damaged zippers
- Weak fabric
- Worn elastic
- Existing stains
- Fabric deterioration
- Cracking prints
- Loose decorations
- Previous colour damage
Normal washing or drying may reveal or worsen weaknesses already present in an item.
Where we notice significant pre-existing damage before processing, we may contact you or decline to process the affected item.
16. Items We May Refuse
We reserve the right to refuse items that we reasonably consider:
- Unsafe to handle
- Contaminated
- Unsanitary beyond the scope of normal laundry
- Infested with insects or pests
- Contaminated with hazardous substances
- Contaminated with bodily fluids requiring specialist treatment
- Contaminated with chemicals, oils or substances that may damage equipment
- Likely to damage other customers’ laundry
- Outside the scope of our services
- Prohibited by law
Where possible, we will advise you if an item cannot be processed.
17. Hygiene and Contaminated Laundry
You must tell us before collection if laundry has unusual contamination or requires special infection-control handling.
This is particularly important for laundry contaminated by:
- Blood
- Bodily fluids
- Hazardous chemicals
- Infectious materials
- Medical waste
- Oils or industrial substances
We may refuse such laundry where we do not have appropriate facilities, equipment or procedures to process it safely.
18. Ironing Services
Where ironing is requested, we will use reasonable care appropriate to the fabric and its care instructions.
Customers should identify delicate, heat-sensitive or specially finished items before processing.
We do not guarantee that every crease, wrinkle or pre-existing mark can be completely removed.
19. Lost or Damaged Items
We take reasonable care when handling customer laundry.
If you believe an item has been lost or damaged while in our care, please contact us as soon as reasonably practicable and provide:
- Your name
- Booking or invoice details
- Description of the item
- Details of the issue
- Photographs where applicable
- Any other relevant information
We will investigate the matter and work with you to determine an appropriate resolution.
Any remedy will take into account applicable Australian Consumer Law rights, the circumstances of the incident, the condition and age of the item and other relevant factors.
Nothing in these Terms limits any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot legally be excluded.
20. Service Quality Concerns
If you believe a service has not been completed satisfactorily, please contact us promptly after receiving your laundry.
Where appropriate, we may ask to inspect the affected items.
Depending on the circumstances and your rights under Australian Consumer Law, an appropriate remedy may include re-performing the affected service, providing a refund or another remedy.
We encourage customers to contact us before arranging for another provider to reprocess an item so that we have a reasonable opportunity to investigate the concern.
21. Cancellations and Rescheduling
We understand that plans can change.
Customers should notify us as early as possible if a pickup needs to be cancelled or rescheduled.
Where reasonable notice is provided, we will endeavour to accommodate your request.
If a driver has already been dispatched, has arrived at the collection address, or a service has already commenced, additional charges may apply where appropriate. Any such charges will be communicated to you and will be subject to applicable consumer law.
22. Recurring Services
Where you arrange a regular or recurring laundry service, the frequency and expected service arrangements will be agreed with you.
You may request changes to recurring services by contacting us.
Changes to collection frequency, laundry quantities, service requirements or delivery arrangements may affect pricing.
We may also contact you if a recurring service requires adjustment because of changes in service availability, operating costs or other relevant circumstances.
23. Commercial Customers
Additional arrangements may apply to commercial customers, including:
- Agreed collection schedules
- Volume requirements
- Commercial pricing
- Invoicing arrangements
- Payment terms
- Linen requirements
- Service-level requirements
Where a separate written agreement, service agreement or accepted commercial quote exists, its specific terms will apply in addition to these Terms.
If there is an inconsistency, the specific written agreement will apply to the extent of the inconsistency, subject to applicable law.
24. Payment
Payment must be made in accordance with the payment terms shown on your quote, invoice, booking confirmation or other agreement with Express Mobile Laundry.
Accepted payment methods will be communicated during the booking or invoicing process.
Where payment is overdue, we may:
- Contact you regarding the outstanding amount
- Suspend future services
- Decline additional bookings
Any collection costs or late-payment charges will only be applied where they have been properly disclosed and are legally recoverable.
25. Uncollected or Undeliverable Laundry
If we are unable to return laundry because we cannot contact you or delivery cannot be completed, we will take reasonable steps to contact you using the details you supplied.
Additional storage or redelivery charges may apply where appropriate and where communicated to you.
Any handling of goods that remain unclaimed for an extended period will be carried out in accordance with applicable law.
26. Australian Consumer Law
Our services come with rights and guarantees that may apply under the Australian Consumer Law.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
Where Australian Consumer Law applies, consumers may have rights where services are not:
- Provided with due care and skill
- Fit for a particular purpose made known to the service provider
- Supplied within a reasonable time where no time has been agreed
Your rights under Australian Consumer Law apply in addition to these Terms.
27. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Express Mobile Laundry will not be liable for indirect or consequential losses that are not reasonably foreseeable as a result of our failure to comply with our obligations.
We are not responsible for loss or damage caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control where we have otherwise exercised appropriate care and complied with our legal obligations.
Nothing in this section excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including rights and remedies available under Australian Consumer Law.
28. Events Outside Our Reasonable Control
We will not be responsible for delays or inability to perform a service caused by events outside our reasonable control.
These may include:
- Natural disasters
- Flooding
- Severe weather
- Bushfires
- Road closures
- Transport disruption
- Utility outages
- Equipment failures that could not reasonably have been avoided
- Government restrictions
- Public emergencies
Where such an event affects a booking, we will make reasonable efforts to communicate with you and reschedule or otherwise resolve the affected service.
29. Website Availability
We endeavour to keep our website available and accurate but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
We may occasionally modify, suspend or temporarily disable parts of the website for:
- Maintenance
- Security
- Technical upgrades
- Business changes
Information on our website may also be updated from time to time.
30. Privacy
Personal information provided to Express Mobile Laundry will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable privacy laws.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information.
31. Communications
By requesting a quote or booking a service, you agree that we may contact you regarding the service using the contact information you provide.
Service communications may include:
- Quote information
- Booking confirmations
- Pickup reminders
- Driver or delivery updates
- Service questions
- Invoice information
- Payment notifications
- Changes to a booking
Marketing communications will be managed separately and, where required, you will be provided with an option to unsubscribe.
32. Complaints and Dispute Resolution
If you have a concern about our services, please contact us first so that we have an opportunity to investigate and resolve the issue.
We will aim to handle complaints fairly and within a reasonable timeframe.
Nothing in this section prevents you from exercising rights available under applicable Australian law or contacting an appropriate consumer protection authority.
33. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to:
- Our services
- Operating procedures
- Pricing arrangements
- Technology
- Applicable laws
- Business practices
The current version will be published on our website.
The Terms applicable to a service will generally be those in effect when that service is booked or otherwise agreed.
34. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be treated as removed or modified to the minimum extent necessary.
The remaining provisions will continue to apply.
35. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the Australian state or territory in which Express Mobile Laundry provides the relevant service, together with applicable Commonwealth laws.
